Is Worcestershire Sauce Gluten Free?
In the US, most brands of Worcestershire sauce are gluten free. But to be safe, choose one of the easy-to-find Gluten Free Worcestershire Sauce brands on this list!
A common base for Worcestershire sauce is vinegar. This can be problematic because malt vinegar is not gluten free, as it is made from barley. However, most brands of Worcestershire sauce sold in the US are made from white vinegar, which is gluten-free.
This list contains Worcestershire sauce brands that are either labeled gluten free or certified gluten free. I’ll let you know which ones are certified and which ones are not in case you prefer to only consume certified GF products.
If you have any other dietary restrictions, I’ll also be sure to list other certifications for each product listed, including Kosher, organic, vegan/vegetarian, soy-free, nut-free, and more!
Product ingredients can change at any time, so always read the most up-to-date label information, certifications, and allergen warnings before purchasing any product on this list.
Gluten-Free Worcestershire Sauce Brands
One of the most popular Worcestershire sauce brands, Lea & Perrins, is gluten free! I couldn’t find anywhere that says this product has been officially certified gluten free, but it is labeled gluten free here by the company. Â It is also Kosher certified!
You can find Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce at many grocery stores, including Kroger, Target, Walmart, Safeway, and more! You can also order this directly from Amazon!
If you’re looking for a Vegan Gluten Free Worcestershire sauce, check out The Wizards! This Worcestershire sauce is vegan-friendly, gluten-free, and USDA organic. Note: This product is labled gluten-free but has not been tested and certified.
The Wizards has two Worcestershire sauces, but only one of them is gluten-free. Unfortunately, you’ll only be able to find the gluten free sauce in select stores. Kroger and Kroger affiliates (like Ralphs, Pick ‘n save, Dillons, Smiths, etc.) sometimes carry this product, but if you can’t find it near you, you can order it from Amazon or Edward & Sons.
Wan Ja Shan Worcestershire Sauce
Wan Ja Shan Organic Worcestershire sauce is also gluten-free, vegan-friendly, and USDA organic! This brand is also one of the most affordable — you can find it for under $3.00 at some stores!
You can usually find Wan Ja Shan Worcestershire sauce at stores like Kroger and affiliates (Ralphs, QFC, Dillons, etc.), Whole Foods, and Publix. However, it will vary by location.
