Are Ice Cream Cones Gluten-Free?
Most ice cream cones are not gluten-free. Both sugar cones and waffle cones typically use flour as a base, meaning most of them contain wheat products. But for those suffering from celiac disease or gluten sensitivities, there are many gluten-free ice cream cones that you can find at the grocery store or online!
For each of these gluten-free ice cream cone brands, I’ll be sure to clarify whether or not the product is certified gluten-free or just labeled gluten-free. The difference is that certified gluten-free products have to meet certain standards whereas non-certified products just have to be free from gluten-containing ingredients, such as wheat, barley, and rye.
If you have celiac disease, you should only purchase certified gluten-free cones, but if you are gluten-free for other reasons, feel free to try any of the products on this list!
To find the brand that is best for you, read through the descriptions for each one to find out what popular grocery stores carry their products, what varieties they offer, whether or not the products are certified gluten-free, and if you can buy them online!
Product ingredients can change at any time. Before you buy, make sure to check the most recent product certifications and look for any allergen warnings on the label.
Notes about popular ice cream cone brands:
- If you don’t live in the US, Eskal ice cream cones are gluten-free and they are sold in Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.
- Goldbaum’s does have gluten-free cones; however, I think they might be discontinued as many stores are out of stock and their website was unavailable.
- Keebler does not currently have any gluten-free cone options.
