Is Ponzu Sauce Gluten Free?
Ponzu sauce is a popular Japanese condiment, but unfortunately, it is not always gluten-free. This citrusy sauce usually contains soy sauce, which we all know contains wheat ingredients.
That being said, swapping the soy sauce for tamari would easily make this condiment gluten-free. Because many Asian condiment brands are aware of this common dietary restriction, many of them have come out with gluten free ponzu sauce alternatives!
Instead of reading the ingredients list of every Ponzu sauce in your local grocery store, check out this list first to see if any of these gluten free Ponzu sauce brands are available to you! You can also buy most of these products online. If you can, a link will be provided in the “buy online” section.
In addition to being gluten free, I’ll also list any additional product certifications that a ponzu sauce brand has, such as vegan, organic, Kosher, and more. These can be found in the descriptions under the images.
Because product ingredients can change at any time, be sure to always read the most updated label information before purchasing any of the products on this list. If you find a great GF ponzu sauce brand that is not included on this list, leave a comment below!
